When you mention 'risk' do you make drive images? It's simply not worth the effort, or more importantly the risk, for my purposes, but thanks for info all the same. The tool lets you edit missions from it's Mission tab, but as far as mission editors go I'd say it's far from a tool for casual or one time use. Once configured, it's available from within any flight from the 'Tools' option on the main menu. To configure it you need to edit your DLL.XML file in your FSX Users folder using the the example given in the file.īeware that if you edit it incorrectly, it will almost certainly break other applets or utilities that are auto-loaded at startup by FSX - possibly even causing FSX to crash. The catch is, it's only installed to the '\FSX\SDK\Mission Creation Kit' folder and not configured. The mission editor for FSX is called the Object Placement Tool and it's installed along with FSX. If there's no "built in" editor does anyone know if there's a decent freeware one available anywhere.? If you can get the AI Carriers v2 from Rikooo going, and the auto installer makes this a no brainer, it should satisfy even the most enthusiastic sim carrier pilot, it's got a bunch of different carrier, fleet, and deck configuration options to keep things interesting, and I highly recommend it.ģ Wire님이 먼저 게시:Is there a built in mission editor in FSX SE.? I seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a mission editor in the SDK folder, but I don't see one. I've got a stable of about a dozen different carrier based aircraft, and they each present their own unique set of challenges to bring down safely and catch the 3 wire, which is the ultimate goal of a successful trap, and the carrier ops mission is pretty much useless for this purpose, unless of course the only plane you ever want to fly is the default FA-18. You can't do it thru the aircraft selection menu, and as I said in the beginning of this thread, attempting to modify the mission file with a simple edit to the "Sim=FA-18" to a different AC proved futile. The mission itself isn't that bad, but try changing aircraft. The Task Force FSX site is supposed to have some excellent hi-res ships and other things that are designed to compliment and work specifically with AI Carriers v2, unfortunately the site has been down for 2 days now and i'm hoping they haven't gone belly up permanently. If installed correctly the AI carriers will appear in the FSX menu bar in the "Add ons" drop down menu. If you do get the Rikooo AI carriers V2, use the auto installer and make sure the path to your FSX root folder is correct. I wouldn't waste my time with the carrier ops mission I linked above, it works, and it uses the default FSX FA-18, but the AI Carriers V2 from Rikooo is so much better it makes the above linked file redundant at best. Which aircraft were you attempting to use? I'll try to see if what you want to do is possible and let you know if it is.
